Military Community

Our school has a small military community and we value the diversity that this brings to our school.

We know how difficult it is moving schools and making new friends and our aim is to provide a smooth and happy transition when your child moves to our school. We have several members of staff who have either been in the forces themselves or who have had experience of Service Life and we embrace the broad range of experiences all children bring to our school and the community.

We aim to make the transition as smooth as possible and can suggest ways to help with this.

The Army Families Federation (AFF) also has useful information about helping forces children move between schools and on dealing with deployment of a parent or carer. Their information can be found at https://aff.org.uk/advice/education-childcare/ and links to other useful sources of information can be found on their website.

We also recommend that, if you can, you obtain a copy of your child’s records from your current school and provide them to us. This will mean that we can understand your child much more quickly, rather than waiting for the other school to send the records to us.
